Wednesday Reflection

Closure is not a thing.

The reality is we will grieve forever.

We do not ‘get over’ the loss of a

loved one; we learn to live with it.

We heal but we will never be the same.

Nor should we be the same,

nor would we want to be.

Grief isn’t always loud and full of tears.

Grief can be quiet, a little hum that follows

us throughout our day.

Who we deeply love can never be fully

gone, we keep them in and with us.

When it comes to grief, we learn to

sit with it, cry with it, dance with it.

We don’t move on. We move with.

🥀 Closure is a myth. Grief is a lifelong process that will evolve into integrating the loss into our identity. We’ll begin to heal and rebuild our lives around our loss.

🥀 The initial pain of grief will lessen over time, the memory of our loved one and the impact of their absence will remain. It’s about adapting to a new normal and finding ways to carry on with life while honoring the love and connection that existed.

🥀 Grief doesn’t end but rather becomes an ongoing part of our life. Acknowledge and honor your grief, allowing yourself to feel all the emotions with love and remembrance.
