Monday Morning Prayer

Scripture Reflections

‘Blessed are those who mourn,
for they will be comforted.’
~ Matthew 5:4

Mourning is a sign of love.
We grieve because we love deeply.

There is no “d” at the end of love.
Love does not become past tense when we lose someone. We love them still, and we always will.

‘Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.’
~ Matthew 11:28

The word come is gentle, an invitation.
The promise is not to escape from sorrow, but to rest.

If you are carrying grief this morning,
may you feel comfort in your mourning,
and rest for your sorrowful heart.
