July Bereaved Parents Awareness Month

July

Bereaved Parents Awareness Month

We pause to recognize the millions of parents who carry the love and loss of a child every day.

Every child is loved.

Every child is remembered.

We honor the parents who carry their children with them always.

Some are grieving sons and daughters who died as teenagers or adults. Others are grieving babies who died during pregnancy, at birth, or shortly thereafter – children they never had the opportunity to watch grow, hear laugh, celebrate birthdays, or see who they would become.

No matter how old a child was when they died, or how much time has passed, the love remains. The length of a child’s life does not determine the depth of a parent’s love or the magnitude of their loss.

During Bereaved Parents Awareness Month, may we remember that support has no timeline. Say their child’s name. Remember birthdays and meaningful dates. Reach out, even years later. Let them know their child is remembered and their child’s life continues to matter.

This month is about more than acknowledging grief. It is about recognizing enduring love, honoring the children who are deeply loved and deeply missed, and reminding bereaved families that they are seen, supported and not alone.
