Monday Evening Prayer

Monday Evening Prayer

“The light shines in the darkness,
and the darkness has not overcome it.”
– John 1:5

Gracious God,

In the midst of sorrow and heaviness,

we turn to You –

The One who holds light even in the

darkest night.

When grief feels overwhelming,

And the weight of loss presses

deep into our hearts,

Remind us that we are not alone.

You are near – steady, present, faithful.

Thank You for the promise that

Your light still shines,

And that no darkness, no pain, no sorrow

Can ever overcome it.

Give us the strength to take one

small step forward,

Even when the road ahead

feels uncertain.

Help us notice the quiet ways

You meet us –

In kindness, in comfort, in unexpected

moments of peace.

We do not deny the pain we carry, Lord.

But we choose to believe that this

pain is not the end.

Fill us with hope –

not as a way to escape grief,

But as a way to walk through it with

You beside us.

May Your light guide our hearts today.

Bring rest where there is weariness,

Comfort where there is longing,

And healing where there is hurt.

We place our sorrow in Your hands,

And trust that even in this,

You are good.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
