Monday Evening Prayer
Lord, as this new month of May begins-
a season of quiet growth, gentle change-
draw near to all who grieve,
to hearts carrying both love and longing.
As this month brings bittersweet gatherings-
Mother’s Day, anniversaries, graduations,
and Memorial Day-
grant them gentleness in moments that feel overwhelming, and stillness to remember, knowing they are not alone.
Let memories come as a gentle presence,
not only as sorrow, but as enduring love.
Remind them that grief is not hurried,
and that they are held here.
May this evening bring rest,
peace where there is grief,
and the quiet assurance that love remains-
even in loss, even now.
Amen.
