Monday Morning Prayer

Monday Morning Prayer

Psalm 91:4 (NIV)

He will cover you with his feathers,

and under his wings you will find refuge;

his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.

At some point in our lives, we have all felt exposed and vulnerable. Psalm 91 is a reminder that we are not alone. Psalm 91:4 is God’s promise to cover and shield us in times of adversity. The psalmist compares God to an eagle mother who cares for and protects her young and represents God as a shield. The Lord covers us with His wings.

On a personal note, this is a picture from one of one of my flower pots. If you look closely you’ll see a grey and white feather lying within the red impatiens.

A close friend asked me just last week if i had seen any feathers since the passing of my dear Dad. Up to that evening, i had not. Last Wednesday evening, to my amazement, i saw a feather in my flowers that i knew had not been there previously. I believe this feather was fully intended for me to see.

This moment brought me a great sense of comfort and hope. I felt my beloved father so near while sharing a sacred moment of my dear Dad’s love and protection.

What has brought you a source of comfort, security and hope since the loss of your loved one?

Thank you Lord that no matter what circumstances invade our life’s, there is no evil or hard that the enemy can inflict on us, except as You permit for our eternal good and the glory of Your name. Thank you that as Your child, our times are in Your hands and I pray that we draw closer to You, day by day, and abide under the shadow of your protective wings of Your love. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
