TUESDAY CHRISTMAS

Not The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year

It Might Not Be The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year…
And That’s Okay
There Can Be Moments of Cheerful & Sad, Grief & Joy.
The holidays are celebrated as a time for joy and togetherness but they are not always the happiest time of the year for everyone. When you or someone you love is struggling with loss, the holiday season can be a painful time to navigate.
* Feel your feelings. If you have lost someone you love, grief is one way of honoring their place in our lives. Express your feelings. Allow yourself to cry, smile or both.
* Create a new tradition. If certain traditions will be too difficult, allow yourself to take a break from them. You may want to decorate less or not at all. A new tradition can help you reconnect to what you find important in the season and honor your loved one.
* Focus on your health. Get plenty of rest, nutritious diet, spend time outside in the fresh air, breathe and make time for exercise.
* Help others. Doing something meaningful and positive for others connects us to our community. Volunteering at a food bank, animal sanctuary or homeless shelter can create a feeling of goodwill.
* Share your story. Talking about your loved one can be therapeutic. Look through photos, share a song or a story of your loved one. In honoring their memory donate to a charity or cause your loved one cared about in their name.
My heart is with you today and throughout the holiday season.❤
