Loss of Identity – Loss of Hopes & Dreams – Loss of Confidence – Loss of Faith – Loss of Financial Security – Loss of Support System – Loss of Income

* Secondary loss is as a result of suffering from a primary loss such as the death of your loved one or another traumatic loss you have experienced.
* Secondary loss is an accumulation of all the unexpected ways you suffer as a result of the death or loss in your life.
* Secondary loses are not any less difficult. They can unfold over time or become apparent in the immediate aftermath of the death or loss.
* Secondary losses require coping and adjustment to the unanticipated changes in your life created by the primary loss.
* Secondary losses are a normal part of grief. Acknowledging and identifying them can be the first step in grieving them.
