Monday Evening Prayer

Monday Evening Prayer

When I am afraid,

I put my trust in you.

Psalm 56:3

Grief often brings more than sorrow. It can leave us feeling vulnerable, uncertain and afraid of what lies ahead. Notice that the writer of this psalm does not say, “if I am afraid,” but “when I am afraid.” During seasons of loss, fear and uncertainty often walk alongside grief. In these moments, this verse offers a quiet reminder that we do not have to face our fears alone.
