A broken heart & lit candle

Collective Grief

We are shaken and heartbroken by the most recent tragedy in Uvalde, Texas.
We grieve for people we don’t know personally because what affects one, affects us all.
This is collective grief.
Collective Grief is when a community, society or nation all experience extreme change or loss.
Collective grief can manifest in the wake of major events such as war, natural disasters, mass casualties or widespread tragedy.
David Kessler, grief specialist, has shared some tips that i hope you will find helpful at this most heartbreaking time.
I honor and witness your grief. Be still, sit in silence, light a candle in memory, speak their names, share their stories.
I offer my deepest prayers to all the children, teachers, families suffering from loss and senseless tragedy.
My heart is with you and our country.
