First Day of Spring

First Day Of Spring

First Day of Spring.
Spring has sprung but grief has no sense of time.
The flowers are blooming but grief has no sense of time.
The birds are singing but grief has no sense of time.
The sun is shining but grief has no sense of time.
Spring can feel like a betrayal of your grief. Grief does not follow an order as the seasons do. It is painful. It is personal.
Your Spring will come.
In your time. In your way.
How to move through your grief in the season of Spring:
* experience the joy & sorrow, sometimes simultaneously.
* let your feelings evolve naturally.
* trust that you will survive your grief.
* make a choice to slowly be more involved in life, going outside each day.
* create a living memorial to honor your loved one: plant a vegetable garden, rose bush or tree.
