Grief Is A Whole Body Experience

Grief is a whole-body experience…
Mind
Body
Spirit
Physical
Emotional
Spiritual
Grief is not just an experience of the head and heart. Rather, grief is a whole body experience, impacting you physically, emotionally, spiritually and cognitively.
There are many ‘faces’ of grief. Grief is recognized when it comes in the form of sadness, tears and loss of interest in normal activities. It is not as common to recognize the physical nature of grief; headaches, intestinal distress, shallow breathing, extreme fatigue just to name a few. Thus, it is vital to care for your whole body. Hydration is important, feel your feelings, sit with your pain, breathe deeply, engage in relaxation exercises, schedule a massage, walk outside, meditation and healthy eating.
