Monday Morning Prayer – Grieving Hearts

Monday Morning Prayer
A Prayer for Grieving Hearts
I pray for all the grieving hearts who are mourning this holiday season.
Jesus, you promised to be close to the brokenhearted and draw near to those who are crushed in spirit.
Bring comfort in the arms of Your love. You know the depth of their sorrow and the many tears that have been cried.
Wrap them in Your warm embrace and presence, hold them tight and fill the empty space of their heart with Your love.
Give them Your peace that passes all understanding so they can rest in Your ways and Your truth.
Thank You for heaven, for our true home. We praise You and thank You for the gift of eternal life.
We love you Jesus with all of our heart, all of our soul, all our mind and all of our strength.
In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
Grief can be especially powerful at the holidays.
The holidays are a time for joy and connection both of which seem impossible while grieving.
It’s hard to fathom a Christmas without your loved one.
In deep grief, God is our comfort.
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; He rescues those whose spirits are crushed.” ~ Psalm 34:11
God’s presence does not take the pain away; God’s presence sustains us in the pain.
My heart is with you today and throughout the holiday season.
