Monday Morning Prayer – Psalm 46:10

Monday Morning Prayer
“Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth.”
Psalm 46:10
Psalm 46:10 is a verse for comforting ourselves and others. Take time out of your day to meditate on Scripture. Be still is written in the context of a time of trouble. The call to all is to ‘be still’ in times of strife, in times of peace, in all times.
As we become silent and still, we have two objectives:
* Remove external distractions. Life can be fast paced. You may be overwhelmed with activities and the busyness of life. You may feel you can’t slow down. Your busyness can get in the way of having time alone. Find a time and place for solitude. Turn off any distracting noise. Take time to be fully present in the moment.
* Silence internal distractions. It is essential to silence your inner being. Expel the thoughts within you that pull your attention away from where it needs to be in the moment. Quiet your mind to create an intention of stillness.
