Monday Evening Prayer
To the one starting the new year with grief…
when the thought of surviving another year without your loved one seems unbearable…
when the pressure to focus on the new is too loud and all you want is to cling to how things used to be…
when the world moves on and it seems like no one has any regard for your pain, remember this…
‘The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
He makes me lie down in green pastures,
He leads me beside quite waters,
He refreshes my soul.
He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake.’
Psalm 23:1-3
In the midst of your grief, God cares about you…
He will sustain you.
He will give you rest.
He will give you peace.
He will guide you through it all.
Your pain matters to Him.
Your heartbreak is not a burden.
And if all you can do is cry out to Him, you can rest knowing He will be with you.
This hurt isn’t something you have to rush through but it’s something you can invite God into.
